Teen Journalism - Unearth a Story with Lindsey Young & Newton Area Senior Center
July 10th 10:30 - 12:30
Lindsey Young, journalist, newspaper owner, and educator, will introduce 10 teens to the powerful skill of interviewing. After learning from Lindsey at NPL, the teens will walk to the Newton Area Senior Center (6-minute walk) with Lindsey and Maggie (the Teen Librarian) to interview their participants! NPL teens will eat pizza and interview Newton Area Senior Center participants. After the interviews, teens will return to NPL and work on writing a story that could appear in Harvey County Now. Please register, as we are only offering 10 spots for this event.
10:30 - 11 Teens will meet at NPL and learn about interviewing
11-12, walk to the Newton Area Senior Center, interview participants, and eat pizza (thank you for the pizza, Newton Area Senior Center!)
12-12:30 Teens will return to NPL and will write a story that could appear in Harvey County Now
